The multimedia exhibition disassembles and reinserts Mexican and queer feminine cultural markers through engagement with textures of everyday life. The superimposition of photography, archival images, video, poetry, and sculpture engages with multiplicity and contradictions of experience. I unbend the corners of myself that have been compressed and flattened by code switching and surviving colonial institutions and place the spotlight on the performativity of gender and race to offer a portrayal of becoming.
Reception: May 12, 7–10PM
